In all seriousness now. I've been thinking about talking to Lucy, try and apologize for the whole mess the other day.
I know she doesn't like me very much right now, but I was hoping to fix that. Sooner rather than later. Would that be alright by you?

[jolting]

I think she’s just overwhelmed. Tell her a story about your adventures in space. She’ll like that.

Seeing as I miss sleeping next to you, I wouldn’t mind that at all.

[the text can disguise just how much Victor misses him. Not just for sex, but for his presence. He’d grown used to James beside him and now finds it hard to sleep any other way.

Yeah, and I didn't help. Either way, I think it might take a while for her to be alright with me being around, and I don't wanna push. Or else she'll never like me.

It's just eating at me. I miss you. I can barely get a good night's sleep when you're not there with me.

[ Unlike Victor, Jim has absolutely no issues confessing this, through text or otherwise. ]

[he’s very glad this is text and not video. Though even here he’s at a loss for words]

I’m not glad we have the same problem sleeping, but it’s nice I’m not the only one.

What if we video chatted? We can at least keep each other company.

[ He'll have to admit, he would've been very glad if this were over video, if only so he could see Victor at a loss for words. He finds himself smiling at the next text, utterly smitten by the doctor's suggestion. ]

I'd love that. It's not the same as having you here with me, but it's better than nothing.

I'd like to visit you at the hospital too, sometimes. Whenever you're not busy. Every little bit of time I can have with you helps.

[jolting]

[just think, James is missing out on the warm smile and the starry eyes. Victor swallows at that final text. As if he isn’t already hopelessly smitten]

It would brighten my day seeing you. And I’ll drop by to see you, too.

And of course you’re helping Lucy and I move into our new house. We’ve talked about a code so only people who know it can come in. I think that will help her.

[ He is trying very hard not to think about it, actually. But oh, he certainly plans on making up for it the next time they see each other. ]

I think so. It's taken a while because I wanted a space for my office, and of course we need two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

You know I've never bought a house before? I've always been living under someone else's roof: my father, Regina, this city... This house will be the first one that's mine. It's really amazing.

[winscenario]

That sounds really great. I can't wait to see it.

Really? I mean, if you had your dad's place, I guess that's not so strange. I lived at my parents' farm until I left for the Academy. And I had a flat in San Francisco but I didn't really spend a lot of time there. Can't even say I ever thought of it as 'home'.

[jolting]

I get that. Until recently, if I thought of "home" I thought of Storybrooke instead of my own world. And lately, I think of this place.

[not that there are any particular people who would influence that feeling, of course]

But yeah, me too, I guess. I've settled into this place a lot since I first got here. Feels like home, too.

[jolting]

Maybe you could show me your favorite place in the Quarantine sometime.

Does it have to be in the Quarantine or can it be a place beyond the wall?

[jolting]

Well, that'd be even better, because I'd get to ride in the shuttle.

But seriously, I just want to see your favorite place, wherever that is.

I have a lot of places I like, but I'll try to narrow it down.

Then again, I could also just show you all of them, one by one. You being there will only make them even more perfect anyway.

[jolting]

[oh, no, his heart, it's melting into a helpless puddle. He's pretty sure that even without video evidence, James knows full well how flustered Victor is right now after that declaration]

I wish you wouldn't type things like that. It only makes me mad that I'm not closer so I can grab the device out of your hand and kiss you.

I wish I could say I'm sorry. I mean I could say it but we both know I wouldn't mean it.

You can always make it up to me and kiss me senseless the moment we see each other again. I'm very okay with that.

[jolting]

More like I'll kiss you until I become senseless.

I'll have to remember to tell you the code before we do that, so you can come in the house once we've settled in.

[he's not even joking. He and Lucy agreed that only people who know the code can come in]

That's so cute. Having a secret code and all, how... hmm, exclusive. Like we're part of a special clique.

What works even better is to kiss you even after we're both senseless.
