IN-CHARACTER:
Character name: Victor Frankenstein
Character journal:
jolting
Series name: Once Upon a Time
Canon notes: 6.03 “The Other Shoe” + nine months of memories in a game
Species: Human
History: Doctor Whale and Victor Frankenstein
-Early in his time at Riverview, Victor was hired onto Prometheus Labs under Alexander Pierce. Victor still used his cursed name to avoid the negative connotations of Frankenstein. He became the unofficial doctor of Pierce and those working under him, though Victor greatly diminished his role after adopting Lucy.
-He met Lucy Mills, daughter of Henry and granddaughter of Emma. When Emma left the Quarantine, Victor took it upon himself to take care of the girl. Eventually he adopted her and grew to love her as a daughter.
-He messaged Jim Kirk on a whim. The two started a sexual relationship and eventually fell in love, moving in together.
-All the exploring opportunities of the Quarantine motivated Victor to become more physically fit so he could actually explore. He started working out and spending time at the firing range so he could defend himself if need be.
-Encountering so many people from so many different worlds made Victor more open and sociable, as well as helping him to fully embrace his identity as Frankenstein. He's moved past his desire to revive the dead, though, focusing on the living and doing science in other areas.
Personality: Victor is strongly devoted to his family and people he loves. He has and would go to incredible lengths for the people he loves, as evidenced by his work in reviving the dead. He wouldn't hesitate in making a morally gray decision if it helped his family and loved ones, like tricking Regina into thinking he failed in resurrecting Daniel. Of course should he lose his family, he takes it hard and carried a lot of guilt for years before finally coming to terms with it.
Despite being an outsider-- the only one from his land cursed into Storybrooke-- Victor still worked hard to care for all his patients. He could be blunt or creepy in his language sometimes, but his heart is in the right place. He manages to keep a calm demeanor even in crisis situations and never backs away from his duties as a doctor no matter how many times magical beings attacked him or the hospital.
Victor can be very defiant of authority and isn't afraid to speak his mind. It was his defiance that helped him continue his work on resurrection despite his father's disapproval and it being widely considered unnatural. It can be dangerous, though, like when he stands up against powerful beings like Regina or Gold, but Victor is certainly not a coward.
As can be expected from one who defied the laws of life and death, Victor can come off as arrogant. He's not shy about praising his own abilities and he doesn't have much in the way of humility. He's not so egocentric, though, that he would refuse to admit when he needs help or is powerless. He may do so grudgingly, like when he admitted to Gold he needed magic, but he is able to acknowledge his limits. He does still take it hard, though, when his ability isn't enough to help his patients.
Abilities: Resurrection: Bringing the dead back to life through electricity and a magical heart. Since the heart is a key ingredient and he wouldn't do this anyway, there's no reason to dampen the ability.
Drawing: He has an impressive drawing talent, able to sketch near-perfect copies of things.
Weapon Knowledge: He knows how to fire pistols and other firearms. He spent a lot of time at the firing range training himself while in the Quarantine.
Medical Knowledge: He was basically the only doctor in Storybrooke, so he knows how to do everything from pediatric care to surgery. He also got to know some “future” medicine and techniques working with Beverly Crusher in the Quarantine.
Augment Skillset: Lab Support Augment
